Suraj Satpathy

As Envista’s CHRO, Suraj maintains responsibility for talent processes and people strategy. Suraj joins Envista from Cepheid, a global diagnostics company under Danaher, where he most recently served as SVP, Human Resources & Internal Communications. Suraj joined Cepheid during the COVID-19 pandemic and was instrumental in supporting the company’s growth from $1B to $3B in revenue and from 3,000 to 6,000 associates globally. During this period of hypergrowth, Suraj was actively involved in building the HR infrastructure while strengthening the capabilities and disciplines amongst the leadership team and more broadly throughout the organization. Specifically, Suraj drove transformation through various aspects of Cepheid’s culture, DE&I, HR excellence, commercial execution, and innovation.  

Prior to Cepheid, Suraj spent nearly 14 years at Gilead Sciences where he held various HR leadership roles, including an international assignment based in the UK as Vice President, HR EMEA. During the company’s rapid growth from $5B to over $32B, Suraj successfully utilized his strong data-driven and program management skills to simplify, integrate, and scale talent processes and develop a more agile, operationally excellent HR function. His experience at Gilead also included navigating complex business cycles and M&A integrations globally.

Suraj holds a Bachelor of Arts in Molecular & Cell Biology from the University of California, Berkeley. Suraj and his wife Kelley, who is a pediatric dentist, reside in Newport Beach, CA and are expecting their first child in March.
